200g canned chick peas
2 garlic cloves
1 tsp ground cumin
2 tbsp lemon juice
4 tbsp water
2 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp paprika (to taste)
salt to taste

Serve with
4 pitta breads
2 large carrots (you may like other veg)

Why did Charlotte make this dish?

I had to choose a healthy dish to make during food tech and this quick, easy and delicious.

How to make Healthy Hummus

-First rinse and drain the chickpeas and place into a blender

-Secondly peel and crush the garlic

- After that add the garlic, lemon juice, cumin, water and salt (to taste) into the blender and mix together until smooth. Spoon into a dish and sprinkle with paprika.

- To serve

toast the pitta bread lightly for three minuets under the grill and cut into quarters and the chop three (or as many as you like) large carrots into slices

Finally Place the carrot and pitta bread into a bowl alongside the hummus, you can now add more salt and paprika to taste.
