Croque Monsieur

A delicious croque monsieur recipe with a little LEON twist. Still embracing the classic French combination of cheese and Dijon, but adding our Garlic Aioli, enhancing the creaminess and adding a hint of garlicy goodness.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp LEON Garlic Aioli
  • ¾ tsp Dijon mustard
  • 8 slices sourdough
  • 8 slices gruyère
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Salt & pepper to season

Method

  • In a bowl, mix the aioli & mustard. Spread evenly over 4 slices of bread and add a slide of gruyère on each piece of bread. Season with salt & pepper.
  • Place the remaining bread on top and then spread butter evenly over both outside pieces of bread.
  • Heat a nonstick frying pan on a medium heat and add a sandwich at a time, cooking for 3-4 minutes on one side, and then turn over. The cheese should be melted and the bread crisp & brown.
